A Conversation with Thunder

Who doesn’t love a good storm.

The rain rhythmically drumming the roof of the lanai.

Meanwhile, the lightning brightly flashes and thunder rolls over the roof tops like a large wave.

You hear a whisper softly in your ear.

Listening intently, you hear the rain invite you to dance.

“Come dance with us.” It whispers again.

“Do I have to?” you ask.

Thunder crashes as if to say “NO”.

There is a moment of silence, then the thunder gently grumbles,

“But you will enjoy it if you do!”

You ponder the thought for a moment and decide to shed the excess weight.

On the table goes the glasses, the phone and anything thing else you don’t want to get wet.

Standing up, you start for the door and pause to ask,

“Can I at least go get a towel?”

“NO” booms the lightning and thunder, but with a more forceful tone this time.

Opening the door, the rain picks up as if to be cheering.

As you walk to the end of the path a flash of lightning illuminates the way.

Then the thunder says, “Proceed”.

You reach the end of the path and extend your arms out.

Turn your palms and chin to the sky.

Let the rain wash over you.

Feel the negative energy flowing away with the rain.

And smile, always smile.

The moment does not last long, but feels like the best shower you’ve had in a while.

As you walk back to the door, you nod to the sky and say,

“Thank you”.

A flash lights up the door as you reach for it.

And the thunder replies,

“I Find You Kind”.
